My grinder stopped working. My first thoughts were the brushes on the motor. They seem fine. What about the capacitor? Not sure why it has 3 leads instead of 2.

I think the capacitor is the line filtering capacitor. I don't think they will cause any problems.

 

That's a filter capacitor, you need to measure the resistance of the cable to the plug and switch to check continuity.

 

Thank you guys. It was the switch. I cut it apart with a stanley knife and fixed the spring which was partially jamming. Now fixed.
