I have been here for almost 15 years. In that time period there have been many threads like this one. They all have basically the same pitch and I am not aware of any of them actually resulting in any form of collaboration. Most people with the skills want to be compensated in the short term for a variety of reasons. Many of us are now retired and do not have a long time horizon where we can afford to take on additional financial risk. When starting an enterprise, you want to do it with people you know and trust. At least that is the way I've always done it. Sure, you can throw stones at me and the others with a skeptical viewpoint, but we may actually be doing the TS a huge favor by exposing critical flaws in his plan. I can tell you, as an entrepreneur, it is far better to find the flaws in your plan on the front end than on the back end after you've burned through a couple million in venture capital funds. You revise and strengthen the plan or you chuck it and move on.

 

There should be a website that exists on a Venn diagram at the convergence of goFundMe, upwork/fiverr, and kickstarter, where bored experienced professionals go to donate their time instead of donating money. Who wants to make this website for me?
