From CA & NM
two daughters, sons in law, grand daughter, grand son, & my first meeting with my great grand son.

His secret to longevity
A big fat cigar, 1/5 Jack Daniels monthly & one big whopper of a lie daily. Now I've used up my quota.
In 1933 my sister & I shared a cigarette , one puff each was enough of the filthy thing. Jack lasts about 3 years,
vodka & Irish Cream about 3 / year ea. The rest is just blind luck. I'm single again but I have a wonderful lady friend.
A neighbor had a big tree cut down & left a 2 ft. dia. X 5 ft. length in " my " alley. Today I split the thing in two.
Maybe in a few days it will be fire wood.
Maybe obvious to all but me, but I find this cryptic. Seems to be written from his perspective but isn't quoted. Reads like a eulogy but never confirms passing. Can you please clarify?

It seems like the best forensic deep dive by a moderator trying to confirm that there was or was not a "Bernard" who once frequented this forum.
Personally -- I have my doubts. I've been here a long time and I have no recollection of such a member.

There definitely was (is?) a Bernard who was very active here. I didn't realize that was the topic; I thought it was about whether or not he still lived.
