Hi everyone!
I have a project where I have to use IR proximity sensor (Sharp 2Y0A02) externally and separately from the main box. The IR sensor needs 3 wires to connect - negative, positive and a "data" wire. I've been trying to find a socket and a jack that provide 3 wires for connection - not pins for connecting to the PCB but actual wires. No luck so far.
There are tons with two (pos and neg) but seeing only either large audio connectors or those 120V computer-type sockets. I am looking for something smaller which are mountable to the small project box, visually pleasing and does not take up more space than the IR sensor itself. Something like standard 5.5mm or 3.5mm DC power socket/jack are a good visual reference - but with 3 pins.
I know, I know.. maybe I want a bit too much but wanted to make sure there is nothing readily available before I start to get creative - like maybe using 3.5mm stereo sockets which maybe my only option if I cant find anything else.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!
