Looking for a component: smaller MOSFET or TIP120 transistor

Hi everyone,

I am working on a project that involves an ATTiny, a MOSFET/TIP120 transistor to switch the load and a low current 3V DC motor. The power supply is 2x AAA batteries so 3V.

I would like the project to be super small, and am looking for some alternatives to the RFP30N06LE or the TIP120 that I have been prototyping with, that come in a package that is smaller than the standard size (both height and width-wise). I have looked into SMD packages (I have never used SMD components before as I am a beginner!) but am a little lost with the huge array of options.

Would anyone be able to suggest me an alternative to the above in a SMD package, with the knowledge in mind that I am using it with an ATTiny (with an output voltage of 3V)?

Thank you!

A

The fet your using is 30Amp, which is too large for a set of AAA batteries, try looking for 5Aamp fets with 30Vds, @35mOhms or less , ideally what current are you switching?

Like these..

Thank you so much for this, it is so useful. The current I will be switching is around 250 - 500 mA. I was also wondering if this would also be suitable?

Thanks again!
