Hi.
Seems all brands DeWalt, Hitachi, PorterCable, Makita, Worxs... have same configuration packs (~20V) but different contacts and number of contacts, like to prevent one being used with another. Normal. To make customers buy a bunch of chargers and their brand pack$.

Do you know of information on the web about terminals designation for each brand packs ?

What are the multiple terminals ? Temperature, current sense, presence of pack plugged, charging, discharging at tool... what else is typical ?

There's probably a business opportunity in selling an adapter that would allow an owner to use any battery they want. It is maddening that they can't just settle on a standard.

If the developed a standard for how these batteries connect to the tools, the tool manufacturers wouldn't have a lock on selling replacement batteries. Same goes for any proprietary design such as electronic manufacturers that will either have a standard IC marked with some strange number or simply obliterate the original markings so they can't be identified.
