Lipo vs Li-ion Charging 5s packs (18.5v)

I've taken apart many Li-ion battery packs from power tool packs to laptop batteries and have only had the "pleasure" of taking apart on LiPo pack which was from a 12v car jump start kit (those small battery packs that supposedly jump start a car...)

What I have noticed in all the Li-ion packs is that they have individual leads running to each battery (whether it is a single battery or 2-3 in parallel). there is usually a stiff, thin metal wire (in tool packs) or a flexible coated flat metal lead in computer packs) that leads to each of the batteries in the series. I think this is so that the battery control board can tell what cells are loosing V faster, charging faster or slower. IDK if they can independently charge each of these cells more than others, if they are charging slower, but I would guess that may be possible.

Now in LiPo packs (for things like RC cars, Drones, etc) All I see is one connection, usually a very thick gauge wire and this could be a 5S1P up to 5s3/4P packs, but they all have a single connector. I've never dissected a multi-series or parallel Lipo to look inside, only looked at the controll board of the car charging packs (and the controller board looks more like a a voltage converter from 5v -> 12v as the pack runs at 12v native.

So I'm wondering if the LiPo's dont' suffer from the same issues that Li-ions' do or if the LiPo's need to have the same balance charging like the Li-Ions but it is just more difficult to see.

I have seem some 10A - 25A LiPo charging boards (for 5S) on AliExpress and it looks like they have output for each of the cells but I can't imagine how this is handled when plugging a LiPo pack directly into a charger that has only 2 connections.

Is the board that I mentioned somewhere inside the LiPo pack and it just gets the juice through the 2 connections?

You are correct in assuming that the extra wires in some packs are to make it possible to equalize the charge on the cells. Lithium-ion batteries of all chemistries do very slowly discharge when not in use. The cells will discharge at different rates. This is what causes the unbalanced charge in a pack.
If you explore the contents of the multi-cell batteries that have only two leads, you will discover a small circuit board which takes care of balancing the charge,

So What ou are saying is that all those battery packs at places like "hobby zone" and such for quad copters and drones, or even the 12vdc quick car charger (boost kit - which has 3 cells), has some kind of board inside the battery pack? I've taken the boost kit apart and there is a charg board (b/c it allows to be charged from 5v as well as output voltages at 5v to charge devices), but supposedly these things can put out 250-350A for a very short time, I'm still skeptical about that but that is what they claim - some even say up to 450v and these things are less than the size of a deck of cards (the battery at least).
