So we have those Li-ion protection PCBs out there which everyone has seen that are meant to be soldered permanently to a battery such as an 18650.
I want to put the protection PCB on the socket/holder not the battery so that any non protected battery used in the holder will be protected from over charge, or over drain etc. I tried just soldering one to the holder but sometimes when the cell is put in that act causes the PCB to lock out. The only way to make it work is to remove and insert the battery a few times until it works or connect to a charger temporarily. That is a hassle and not practical. Is there a protection PCB out there that will auto reset so that when the battery is placed in the socket it will always work?
