What differences are of concern?
All of these don't work:

"F2: Component menu

F3: Draw wire

F4: Label net

F5: Delete (press F5 then click the component)

F6: Copy

F7: Move without wires

F8: Drag/move with wires

F9: Undo (shift + F9 to redo)

Note that CTRL+Z does not undo; rather, CTRL+Z and CTRL+B are used for zooming in and out, respectively. ... Press F2 to access the component menu, which is where you'll find voltage sources and op-amp models. "

I lost confidence in the page after that.

hi cp,
Does your keyboard have a 'F Lock' key?
One of my PC's keyboards has such a key which requires to be selected for the F1 and other F keys to work with LTSpice.

I don't think that's the problem. For instance, ctrl Z does Undo; pointing to the tools on the toolbar shows that W is the shortcut for wire; zooming in/out is Z / shift Z.

I have been reading the article Basic Circuit Simulation with LTspice but I have found that it's quite a bit different from my version of LTSpice, 24.1.9. Is there an up-to-date version or plan to update that article?
I don't know of any plans to update the article, but I'm not really in a position to know either way. In general, articles on AAC (like the vast majority of similar content on other websites that are not focused on dynamic, fast-changing content) tend to be static and archival in nature. Basically, someone offers to write an article about some topic, they write it and submit it, and after some editorial review process, it gets published on the site. In most cases, that's the end of it, just like articles published in a magazine. There's seldom any effort expended to update them, if only because the person that wrote them has often moved on to other things.

Having said all that, pointing out that an article is long in the tooth is not pointless. It brings it to the attention of people that might want to write a new article that is more current (you might consider doing that yourself, if you are interested).
