Some LCDs use elastomeric "zebra" strips for electrical connection. No solder pads are involved.
That LCD could simply be glued on to the PCB. Look for possible retaining tabs on the bottom side of the PCB.

I don't see any of the typical twister retaining tabs on the back. In the 3rd picture,it looks like solder under the white thing. The blueish edges are perhaps the zebra elastomer. Perhaps the assembly went like this:
Those white things ("carrier") are soldered along with the other SMD's to the PCB. Then after cleaning, the LCD and zebra strips are assembled to the board. The LCD would perhaps snap onto the "carrier" and compress the zebra strips. That is just a guess.

If you don't care about destroying the thing, I would try to pop out the elastomeric strips (if that's what they are), get a better look, and then try to pop the LCD off its carrier.
