Hello.I was wondering if anyone know where I find any schematics for connecting a LCD display that uses a ribbon cable to a FFPGA or a basic microcontroller? I'm sorry if my question seems vague, but I asking for my own personal research.

The connection and program needed to drive the LCD display is dependend on the type of display.
There are dispalys that have a intelligent driver on it and those that have only dotwise capability, so you need to make the characters yourself.

Good point. I was ASSUMING HD44780 compatible which is the most popular type for character displays but might not be what the OP has.

Doesn't sparkfun have any info? They seem to be very good at that.

This kind of LCD needs to be connected to a LCD controller which provides the H-SYNC and V-SYNC signals.
