Is it really possible modulate a normal, visible laser pointer by pointing it a surface like a windod and then demodulate the laser beam to get an audio signal? I have done some research into this, but the circuit diagrams are all kind of complicated. Can something give a some advice, a simple parts list and a circuit schematic? Thanks.

Not with a laser pointer, HeNe laser using modulation through the power supply. A laser pointer does not have nearly the beam quality to do anything close. Check out Sam's Laser FAQ
