Hi, I have an old broken HP DV6 laptop (leds blink once when i try to turn it on) and a little experience fixing broken electronic so I've decided to try to fix it. After examining the board I've found out that the 5V rail is shorted, but not missing. After removing a couple suspicious capacitors and ICs I've tried to just find the hottest component with turned out to be ISL6265 but after removing it the current draw went way up. Anyway I'm about to call it a quits (not in the mood to spend hours to hunt down a shorted cap or whatever) unless anybody has any suggestions.
