Langevin Transducer

Most topology I see drives transducer through the use of push-pull or half-bridge topology. However these only produce square waves. I was able to drive the transducer on a half-bridge, but is it ok (common practice) to drive langevin transducer on square wave or is it necessary to have them run on sine wave. Thinking Op Amp here. Any help would be appreciated.
