I have an Pluse Transformer called ETD 34 which is used in fence energizer. It converts the 12V dc to 600Volts to charge the capacitor with the help of MOSFET triggering it . I want to study the direction of current according to the positive and negative cycle. Because in this circuit we also have back current or emf . So it's very necessary to have the direction of current. How can it been known from physical hardware.

 

Put a pulse on the primary, observe the pulse on the secondary with a scope.

 

Can you please give me the suggestions how to check with scope. I have the following type of usage in my application

 

Simple. Feed it a train of pulses and one way it will charge the capacitor, the other way it will not.

 

To protect the scope you could use the pulse transformer in reverse and not risk damaging the scope. The polarity should be the same, but the voltage would be a lot less.
