I have to do a junior project at my university. I am studying digital circuits in this semester so I want this project to be about digital electronics. syllabus includes the basics of digital Schematic, logic gates, triggers, decoders, encoders, registers, ADC, multiplexers. I want to make a project that will be very interesting and informative and will help me to gain knowledge about this stuff.i also know some analog electronics I mean operational amplifiers and stuff. Choose a project which particularly interests you (so that you have an incentive to complete it), fits your skill set, can be built on a sensible budget and will have some practical application.

 

Have you learned any programming language for microcontrollers or does your project allow them?

Some projects might be microcontroller based which might not be covered in your current subject but there are simple projects such as:

You may also find some microcontroller based projects, where in some cases it's possible to ditch the microcontroller and build the logic with gates, flip-flops, etc for the sake of learning of it. One such project from following list:

It would be informative to sweep LED dot matrix without using Arduino. If you choose to do something like this you will learn about logic gates, decoders, EEPROM, counters, and maybe shift register. You can come up with your own idea of what the application would be, how many digits to display, whether to use some buttons to control the operation, etc depending on your interests.

Do you have access to power supply, clock generator, or any digital training kits in your Uni lab or you need to build everything on breadboard from scratch?

Pick something that interests you. A problem that you think needs to be solved or a problem that you think you have a better solution for.
