Is it possible to increase the amperage of a DC circuit while keeping voltage the same?

Electrical control is the LEAST understood aspect of the model railroading hobby. Always has been. Always will be!

BTW, WiFi control is already being used by DCC. JMRI software adds WiFi control to DCC.

Back toward a short answer for the initial question of being able to increase the current without changing the voltage: YES, all that is needed to raise the current is to lower the resistance. Of course, that includes not only the load resistance, but also the source resistance AND the resistance of all the connections in between. A simple answer that would be a serious challenge in most instances.
