I am making an IR remote control switch circuit. It will consist of a transmitter circuit with one key which will send a encoded data towards receiver and a receiver circuit based on TSOP that will decode the data and turn a relay on/off using a buffer. Can anyone provide any web link or circuit ideas based on IR encoders and decoders IC present in the market. Which will do the job without programming.

 

These are quite popular, MC145026 chips for encode and decode outputs.

Can the encoder and decoders used in RF circuits, be used in IR?

 

Yes, the encoder just makes a secure packet to be sent, how you send it doesn't matter if its IR or RF, as long as the packet of data is the same at the decoder.
