replacement for my zoom 220 Speed controller
Thank you. -army122746
Welcome to AAC.

I've searched for a service manual online and found only other models, but, even there they don't provide schematics or parts values so to figure this out, you'll need to provide more information. Barring the unlikely event that someone who happens to know the exact replacement part equivalent, we'll need to do some measuring to work it out.

First, why do you think the part is defective? Before replacing it, it's important to confirm the fault you are experiencing is with that potentiometer and not somewhere else.

Second, so you have access to a Digital Multimeter (DMM)? To find a replacement part we'll need to know the value of it. It has markings that suggest it is 30K but that's not guaranteed. Also, it is probably a linear taper potentiometer where the resistance changes linearly through its range but it would be good to confirm that if possible.

Third, we need to take measurements of the size of the part including:

  1. diameter of the shaft (F)
  2. length of the shaft (C)
  3. diameter of the threaded portion (E)
  4. length of the threaded portion (D)
  5. diameter of the body (A)
  6. length of the body (B)

The last one might not be very important if there is a lot of space where it gets mounted but could be critical is the space is constrained. The figure below has the dimensions needed indicated. Calipers would be best but whatever you use must be accurate enough to distinguish a usable part so it should be off by no more than 1/32" and even that could be dodgy if the mounting tolerances are tight.

If you can't make these measurements, we can make a guess at the correct part and you could try it, but that would be the least desirable way to solve this problem.
