How do you calculate the maximum and minimum inductor currents in a multilevel buck converter? I am analyzing a 5-level buck converter on a phase-by-phase basis, where the converter operates through four phases. During phases 1 and 2, the system is balanced and in steady state, but during phases 3 and 4, it becomes imbalanced. My question is: how should I calculate the maximum and minimum inductor currents during these imbalanced phases? Since they are not in steady state, the regular steady-state equations (such as those assuming Δiₗ(ON) = Δiₗ(OFF)) do not hold. I would appreciate your insights on this.
