I would like to buy a board with ICM-46288, which I could start connecting and programming on ESP32.

I found this one ( EV_ICM-42688-P ) on Farnell, but I'm not sure it's meant to be used on a typical protoboard:


Is it? Or is it meant to be connected to some special connector or even gadget?

What worries me are not the positioning and size, but the functionality - if it has the same pinouts as the following one? That's all I need. The following is custom made.

You might have better luck with this board, available at Mouser and elsewhere. TDK basically pretends the EV_ICM-42688-P doesn't exist.

Magnetometers are not integrated into modern IMUs.

May I ask for another advice - what type of magnetometer would you use with it? I need it only for the re-orientation, due to errors of ICM.

I don’t have a particular answer. I would search for the best ESP32 and development platform compatible library for a magnetometer and choose based on that.
