I've just completed some editing of the text (and in one schematic diagram) concerning Tesla coils in the 'Transformers" chapter of the AC volume, as per a suggestion from a reader. The section is at this location on the "AllAboutCircuits" website:

The changes involve a misconception about the safety of Tesla coils, especially with reference to the "skin effect," and also the basic spark-gap circuit diagram. Given the safety nature of this edit, I recommend immediately updating your site to reflect the changes. The updated text and image may be found in the equivalent location at the iblbio website:

By The way, I've been trying to upload a small graphic image from my computer for use as an "avatar." It appears this option is not functioning yet, so I chose the little hammer guy from the stock page of avatars. Am I doing something wrong, or is the upload facility not working yet?
