Identifying conductors on a handheld walkie earpiece/ptt

We have a bunch of Baofeng bf-888s handheld walkies (https://baofengradio.us/uv-5r-1st-gen/baofeng-10pack888-black.html), and we'd like to connect the headset cables (http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/261404365165?chn=ps&dispItem=1) to one of these http://www.clearcom.com/upload/download/Clear-Com_TW-40_Manual.pdf

Now the clearcom manual specifies a pinout for the clearcom (page 3), but the trouble is we cannot find a matching one for the Baofeng. We chopped open a headset cable, it contains 4 conductors - silver, copper, green and red. We can certainly brute-force test them by connecting them in order, but that will take forever. It was easy to find the ptt button wire with a multimeter. but it would be great to have some basic idea going in of how the other Baofeng pins are configured. For instance, are there 2 pins on the microphone or the earpiece?

Many thanks in advance for any help

Easiest solution is to meter out the ptt, ground terminals, on the jack plug, and put an audio signal into the earpiece, the other wire will be the microphone.
