I'm trying to troubleshoot a short on a circuit board for a wine cooler. Its a green round chip and is marked on the board as RTC. When I try to google this chip I keep getting "real time clock". Is this a type of a MOV? Is there a way to test it? Thanks for any help.RTC.jpg

It’s an inrush current limiter, an NTC thermistor IIRC.

Lots of great wine fridge fixit stuff here. Pg 1 of the schematic shows the RTC.

Check out the whole thread.
Most fixes involve replacing the electrolytics with quality low ESR ones. Parts lists for replacements are in the thread.
Good luck!
Thanks for the info John ! I changed all the caps and still have a short :)
