Hello everyone, I am new to this forum and happy to see there is a section for these kind of questions.
I am looking to repair the RF modulator section of an old Nintendo Famicom console. The issue I found is the signal sent to the TV via the RCA jack on the RF modulator was mostly noise with a faint component of a local FM radio station,
This console comes from japan, as such, the RF signal generated by the modulator should be either channel 1 or 2 (that is US Cable channel 95 or 96):

Interestingly, the radio station that is faintly heard corresponds to 95.3 MHz.
Initially I tried to improve the signal by carefully rutning the knob on the coil trying to "tune" the famicom to produce the right frequency so sound would be properly heard. However, I noticed that no matter how many turns I did on either direction the sound signal would not change.
I found that the audio piece of the signal might be tuned by an RF tunable coil labeled as "698 YP". No brand or other markings are visible. After removing the RF Coil from the board. I noticed it had no impact on the video signal nor on the audio (still mostly noise + the faint FM station).
All this led me to identify this RF tunable coil as the culprit. However, I have no idea what type of coil this might be. After searching the web, it seems the coil has a capacitor on the bottom, leading me to believe this might actually be an LC cirtuit.
As I have no real experience with RF, I would like to ask for help identifying this component. I tried to look for the label on the component for no avail. And after reaching out to Coilcraft they responded they have no tunable coils that include a capacitor.
Any idea what type of component this might be and what specs it might have?
Regards.
