I have seen some small ICs whose package sizes are SOT - 323, SOT223-8,SOT 223-5 and so on. What do these numbers after SOT indicate?
Thank you sir. But the above links do not provide any information regarding the numbers.
Oh I see sir. And my first stop was at Wikipedia only.Hello,
I don't think there ia a direct relation between the numbers and package size.
The wiki has a large page about the SOT packages:

Unfortunately, those numbers only specify the package so you can look up the dimensions and lay out a PC board, they don't indicate anything about what is actually inside. A SOT-23 package can contain many different kinds of transistors, diodes, temperature sensors or complete microcontrollers (see PIC10F200). There is sometimes coding on the package to tell what's inside but that varies.Oh I see sir. And my first stop was at Wikipedia only.
I started to wonder what was the reason for these numbers like SOT 323, SOT 353 and so on?
What does those numbers indicate about the IC?
