The linear regulator LM337 is available in TO-252 (4) package. I would like to use the small package in the schematic and layout. The datasheet is under the link below.

When I search LM337 on Mouser I found "LM337IMPX/NOPB". The Mouser part number is 926-LM337IMPX/NOPB. But this is available in SOT-223 package. I am wondering if SOT-223 and TO-252 (4) are compatible or not. Any comment ?

Have You calculated the expected Heat-Dissipation of the Chip in Watts,
and determined whether your PCB can adequately Dissipate that much Heat ?
