I am in the process of designing a version of pong that runs on no computer. It is all logic. I am looking for a shift register that meets the following:

1. 4-bit
2. SIPO
3. Bidirectional

My research has led me to the 74194, but I am not sure if it can be run SIPO. The reason it has to be SIPO is that the shift registers will be controlling the ball and and paddles. I am using 7400 series ics. Remember, I can't use anything that needs to coded with a computer.

 

Yes, it can be run with either serial inputs or parallel inputs. The data sheet explains.
