I just realized that an electric motor is basically

Actually there is a lot more to it than that. But yes, a motor moves because of magnetic attraction and repulsion. And it is an inductive device. AND there was a thread a few weeks back that showed a motor that actually WAS a pair of solenoids.

What type of motor are you referring to?
For an example, an Induction motor represents a transformer with a shorted turn secondary at power on.
