An obvious mistake. Any PC that lasts for the entire warranty period is usually obsolete and not worth repairing.
I had a $2500 Lenovo Yoga 13 that died after a couple of years. It was given to me by my company for some milestone, so I didn't bother throwing money at it. My 10 year old HP laptop is still working; aside from the fact that the battery no longer holds a charge. Since it's so old, replacement batteries are cheap when you can find them.
I have a more than 25 year old Compaq laptop that runs WinME so I can use some parallel port devices.
