How rainy is it on the west coast???

The Los Angeles River is a river instead of an open sewer.
I'm very familiar with the Los Angeles River and the problems it creates for residents of Long Beach where it enters the ocean.

The ocean is filled with all sorts of debris from 60 miles upstream so instead of being an open sewer, it's also an open dump.

El Nino is the villain du jour.
Yes,
This is just silly. We get a storm about every 3rd day. They say that's what spring is like this year.
But I think the Spook has found a way to just pass them on down to us.
Glad I didn't do the unlimited golf membership. :D

[sarcasm]

Since they closed the HAARP program, a government program that people claimed "controlled" the weather, as well as a host of other nefarious deeds, the weather had been "unusual".

but wait .... there's more .... The HAARP program.

Negative eight for the temp this morning. Mind you, I'm living an a little camping trailer, not well insulated. It's actually doing better than I thought it would. Vikings game is getting ready to start. They are saying it's going to be one of the coldest games in NFL history. People are tailgating in this frigid temp. The Viking organization has set up warming stations and are offering free hand warmers and coffee. Think I'll just stay home and watch on TV.

Do you ever see -40
That's one of my favorite temperatures because it's the same in C and F.:p

Just had 2&1/2 days of too cold or too rainy. Nice for the next three days, then back to the "winter" which is leaking out of the northern states into Florida.:(

4 years ago we had -32C in my neighbourhood. In recent years we've had around -23C +/- a few degrees. Some weeks ago a town in the north part of Norway had -40C. The bus company stopped the schoolbus, and closed the school. "What if a bus breaks down?", they said. Then we have a bus full of children, and no backup. School was closed for two days..

Smart people on the bus decision. We had -44F one day when I was in High School. As the bus filled up with kids, the heater/defroster could not keep up with the steam from all the bodies. The windows iced up and he had to pull over because he couldn't see. Then he had the great idea of turning the whole thing off because he thought it was overloaded. We had fog in a few minutes and ice was forming on the eyeglasses of some kids (inside the bus!). Two more buses were sent, half to one, half to the other and the original bus sat there until it could clear the windows. We were all frozen.

We traditionally see -40°c for a couple of days, -21°c now, so not too bad for Jan.
Nothing stops here, only if a good snow storm, but rare at this temperature.
Looking forward to (+) 40° later on in the year.
Max.
