It’s so hot in Arizona, doctors are treating a spike of patients who were burned by falling on the ground
Every single one of the 45 beds in the burn center is full, he said, and one-third of patients are people who fell and burned themselves on the ground. There are also burn patients in the ICU, and about half of those patients are people burned after falls.

In the badly scorched western Maui community of Lahaina, Mark and Maureen Stefl have now lost their home to a wildfire for the second time in less than five years. On Tuesday they first saw flames under half a mile from their home, and when winds picked up, the fire suddenly was in their yard, Mark Stefl told CNN on Wednesday.
Fanned in part by fierce winds from Hurricane Dora passing hundreds of miles to the south, this week’s fires on Maui and to a lesser extent Hawaii’s Big Island ignited and spread Tuesday, jumping freeways, advancing into neighborhoods and destroying people’s homes and businesses.

Thanks that was a sweet story. My story from that day. I was working at an investment company in SF while living in Walnut Creek. That evening I got a call from my boss. His boss was. worried about any stock market implications from the fire. He picked me up and we drove through the tunnel, under the fire to the Hyatt Regency hotel in the city. We had a nice dinner at their revolving restaurant while watching the flames across the bay. Very weird situation. In our shared room (cheap bastard) I fell asleep to his snoring. The next morning we walked over to the office for a very normal day. No market impact at all. He drove me home after work and I later found out about the impact on that area. Regards.
