Doesn't seem to be dated but references 2015 dated sources. I did note that icing it down was counter indicated causing even more pain which used to be common practice. Down here we deal with a lot of small stingray and catfish spines injuries. Even a simple stick from a saltwater fish's dorsal fin spine can be pretty painful and lead to a serious infection if left untreated. I've got a picture of me holding a 30+ lb King Mackerel with a grim look on my face after being spined on the hand by it. That thing hurt for a couple of weeks.

I can't help but wonder how they get here from Portugal...
Started years ago when there were all those cheap airfares with no frills. Once here they just started to procreate and here we are today.

Seriously it was funny growing up on Long Island. Summers were beach and it was humorous as no sooner did we get on the beach everyone was in the water unless one of two problems were there. Either a severe undertow where you walked out into two feet of water and felt the sand going out from under your feet or jelly fish all over the water and those washed up on the beach. More welts and stings than I care to recall;. The humorous part was the tourist who disregarded warnings including do not pick up dead ones which washed up on the beach. :)

If I get stung by a PMoW I'll probably become famous - and rich. Not many PMoW's in Utah.
Rich? How would you monetize that? Sitting on the midway at the circuit waiting for people to pay the barker $2 to come into your test is a slow slog. At night, you'll probably have to share a trailer with the bearded lady or the man with 6 nipples.

TV appearances and product endorsements.

TV: Jimmy Kimmell & Stephen Colbert. Trevor Noah, and others as well. EVERYONE is going to want to know how the heck I got stung in the Salt Lake. Or maybe it was Lake Powell. Or maybe Utah Lake. If Utah Lake then possibly @killivolt volt might be on stage with me. Share the wealth.

Endorsement:
Use our product and we can guarantee with 99.9% certainty that you will never be stung by a PMoW. Just ask Tony how he wishes he'd been using our product.

I'm still laughing at the thought of you sharing a trailer with the bearded "lady" at the circus.

Those are fresh water, think salt. How about Great Salt Lake? Wouldn’t that be interesting, I know absolutely nothing about those critters.

Probably to salty for them.

Yeah, KV, I didn't stop to think about fresh versus salt waters.

Imagine you had six inches removed from each of your bones in your legs. You'd be a whole foot shorter. But then your arms would hang down to your ankles. And your knuckles would drag. Kind of like the PMoW's tentacles dragging on the bottom of the GSL. Not looking so great these days; more like the Great Salt Dust Bowl.
