How's the weather?

@atferrari, I don't know about Argentina, but we have a saying down here that goes: "Febrero loco, y Marzo otro poco" (crazy February, and March a bit more)

Today it peaked at 33*C (91*F) at 3 p.m., and then it plunged to 8*C (46*F) at 7 p.m. !
That's a 25*C (77*F) differential in just four hours!
@cmartinez

Not that saying but February means rain with the consequent variations in temperature. Here, from 38° to 22°C in January, we are having 30° to 14°C.
That in the center but in the very South (Ushuaia) 12 or 14 to 5°C are common.

To have sunny days in our littoral, the best is January with little or no rain.

"Qué tiempo loco" is the typical uncompromised comment but when in philosophical mode, in this part of the country you could resort to "Lo que mata es la humedad" shaking head as necessary. Popular wisdom at its best.

This morning 17˚F, I went to pick up the wife from the airport 60 miles away yesterday, we had 5" of snow on the Valley floor, still snowing in some areas north of us. Woke up to lake effect snow over 500 car crashes yesterday, more to come today as the roads are covered with snow and ice below it this morning. South of us was around 6˚F last night, they said more to come this weekend.

And on Sunday, I took my daughter to the beach and we swam in the Atlantic.

An odd day today. 39°F and raining here. Nothing odd about that in February. But my sister lives in Bozeman and it was -9°F there this morning. My brother lives in the Chicago suburbs where it was 59°F.

Yesterday we hit 71 or 72 degrees F. Today is cold and wet with a winter weather advisory in effect for tomorrow morning. It's that time of the year when seeing 40 degree F temperature swings over 24 hours is not that unusual. To sum the weather up in a single word it sucks! :)

<EDIT> I keep forgetting the forum does not show location, so my references are to Cleveland, Ohio USA.

Low pressure after low pressure. Not exactly something so extreme that we haven't seen before but there have been storms twice a week since 2018 started which is not the norm here.

-13°C right now. Got up to about -7°C during the day, bright & sunny.

Sometime in the next few weeks it's going to stay above zero for several days in a row and all the water piled up all over the place is going to do a phase change. It could be ugly.

10°C and at average 22 meters per second at the moment with some heavy rain. Makes it hard to hear the TV without blasting the volume. :p

22 meters per second... what? o_O
Just a guess, wind?

Snow today and another storm this Tuesday, won't make up for the lack of accumulation we will need this summer. Found out what my 92 Lexus can't do ..... is snow, climb hills, it's rear wheel drive.

But, coming back from Denver this summer I went around 5 cars like they were standing still, by the time I let my foot off the pedal I was shocked to see the speedometer 130mph felt like 90.

In the truck now, back to work.

Be safe,

kv
