How's the weather?

Almost 80 Kph ... maybe it's just a gale, but it's quite respectable ... I wouldn't dare going outside with that wind, even if it were not raining.
Well I haven't seen many people on foot since the weather started to act up. However we are used to this just not every week, few times a week. The funny thing is that last autumn was pretty ordinary compared to the autumn the year before and November and December too. Then 2018 started... :|

Rained all day yesterday till around 7:00 PM when it got down to about 32 F (0 C) when it transitioned from rain to freezing rain to snow. My guess is 6" of snow this morning.

The video in the link is pretty cool. Ever sonce I was a kid I had this thing about fire trucks with a focus on pumper trucksn The old hook and ladder has been replaced by the new "Aerial Truck" and the video shows one must be a 100 foot aerial truck or more. Think about the pump(s) pushing a column of water up to the top of thet truck. The things are amazing and just plain cool. Then too what is it they say? Simple things for a simple mind? :)

Between oil and rubber in a junk yard no shortage of black smoke.

The guy at the end of the boom directing the spray on top of the fire is a stud.
They could do with a few more trucks, wouldn't you think? it's like sending a guy in with a squirt gun. You might as well wait until it's all burnt up, otherwise your just fanning the flames.

I also had a thing for firetrucks. I have a small collection.

My favorite was the aerial truck with rear steering. None in my collection though.

I believe that is the plan, just let it burn and make sure it remains contained.

We had a magnesium plant fire the next town over (several miles) which lit the night sky. Sitting on the deck watching the bright glow, every now and then we would see a bright flash followed a few seconds later by the thunder boom and a few were so big the ground shook. The only thing they could do was try and cool buildings not yet burning and hope more magnesium didn't get going. That fire burned hotter than anything I have ever seen. Heck of a show from miles away.
