Incredible storm outside. Lots of rain with sustained lightning for the last 15 minutes. Winds of up to 30 kph. Temperature plunged 10C in less than 20 minutes, from 29C to 19C.

The lightning is so constant that it woke me up, and allows me to see the street outside whose light poles lost power when the storm started. Lost power for a moment in my house too. But it came back after less than a minute.

Yes. The picture is of one of its many bays. It's a large lake, with 365 islands in it.

June 3, 2017. Finally! A good, solid, tropical rain!
Still raining on the 4th and 5th and predicted to rain until June 8th.
Very necessary because the lawn was dying, which hasn't happened for maybe 20 or 30 years.
I'm going to have to sharpen the blade on the lawn mower, but that's better than replacing the trees with cacti.

Yes, it does. Thick enough at times that they hold car races on it. The annual ice fishing derby is another popular event, with the lake surface dotted with many, little, heated ice fishing huts. Some people build a campfire on the ice.

There is a lake near my home that ices over.

I have been out a couple of times on one of these. They are very fast! You need to keep an eye out for thin ice.
