I think we began today at around 5 degrees F. Some lake effect snow was blowing around but now a very deceiving bright sun is shining. NE Ohio, USA is not a nice place as we crawl through January. Generally by early February half the population of the NE US become manic depressant deprived of Vitamin D. :)

On the bright side come late January and early February the plan is to flee NE Ohio USA for the Dutch West Indies as we head down to Aruba and Panama. I hate cold and wih each year I age I hate it more. :)

It's going down to 40 F in Florida tonight.:(
I know that doesn't sound bad to most people, but it's 53F (29 C) below what I'm acclimated to.
Another way to look at it is the heat index. Down from 111F to 31F
That's 80F (44 C) below the summer conditions.

Preparing for hibernation.

Freezing for Monterrey standards today. 1°C where I am, and -5°C at a place about 30 minutes away from here... people are flabbergasted that their cars had a thin coat of ice on their windshields this morning!

It's spinning up for a nasty week.
Snowing now with 1 inch freezing rain to follow.

The wind at the house is pretty bad. The pressure gradient across the Columbia River Gorge east to west is 13 millibars,
Peak gusts have been in the 40-50 mph range.

Brutal Gorge snow/ice event on the way today.

Hate it when that happens. Just about everything around here is frozen. Helped my neighbor today with the heater on one of his diesel trucks. Uses the trucks for snow removal, plowing and salting. When a Block Heater fails those diesels don't want to even crank, let alone start. Should warm up a little by Thursday and I hope it does as I will be driving Cleveland, Ohio down to Winston Salem NC. The elevations in West Virginia can suck when it snows and ice forms on the roads. Looks like your picture with sideways semi trucks.

%^&* global warming!
Imagine...ice where it hasn't been seen in living memory!

ps, I got a pulled muscle early yesterday morning. Forced idleness didn't stop anything I would naturally have been doing.:)
Bring it on, Jack Frost! I was going to sleep through today, anyway.:p

So...? Are the Police helping anybody or just milking the herd with their traffic tickets?
What you see there is the entire on duty police force.

Not many ticket today, getting out of the car sucks. I've got 4wd, traction control and snow tires but I was moving sideways a few times on the side streets with snow then ice and then freezing rain on top of the road. You can't use deicer or salt in those conditions. We are down from 30-40 mph constant winds earlier and expect a warming before another snow storm hits later in the week.

The new administration has assured us that global warming is a hoax. The temps here are below freezing with more snow, rain and wind to come. I'm sure glad the government has exposed this climate change charade.

I'm glad the weather, like everything/everyone else, has decided to cooperate with the new administration.
