66F to 80F this week, low humidity, and not a drop of rain for weeks. The lawn is dying!
Good. I don't have to mow it.:p
Received (2) antique vacuum tube guitar amplifiers to repair or rebuild, as necessary.
I love that kind of work:), but I would rather do it in the summer when it's not nice outside.:(

Still need to find out what's growling under my car.
No, it isn't a cat.:D
It must be another bearing but it doesn't make any noise at all when it's jacked up and I'm under the car.
Very frustrating.:(

Sorry to hear that #12 . Here it has been raining every day for a month and a half...Which is very unusual since when we are in the seasonal twilight here, on average get a taste of the four seasons in a day... It's 12th of November and there isn't even snow in the northen part of the country.

In this October we set new records for both amount of rain and temperature for this time a year since we started recording those values here...100 years ago. :|

Ok, planning next summer's vacation and WOWair just announced they will be flying non-stop from Pittsburgh to Iceland in 2017 for really low rates. What would one see in a 5 to 7 day Icelandic vacation - July, Aug or September.

Since I'm not really in the tourist business I would recommend. 1 day in the capital If you want to see the night life, there is. (friday or saturday...Everyday else is a tourist trap in the city.)

Rent a car. Find something reasonable for the time that you are here. That way you can make your own stops when you find something interesting(It takes about 3 days to drive the outer ring of the country with stops) Take a tent if you're traveling light and/or without the whole family otherwise you'll need a camper.

I would chose July if possible because that is the time that (most) likely will have proper weather(Not being able to sleep because of the midnight sun is beyond our control)...;)

There are plenty of specialized trips for tourists here and I don't even know where to begin but if you want to be on a top of a glacier I know a guy;)

Holey smoke. Not getting above 66F today. Must be winter.
This is going to take some getting used to.:(
Glad I finished working in the shed yesterday.
Got my La-Z-Boy recliner re-seated.:)

In today's weather news, global warming leads to, "longer, harsher winters".:D
Somebody tell @tcmtech

I remember growing up in Indianapolis, where 80 F was a bad day. The, "jacket line" was 50 F. I remember crawling in snow to work on something under a truck at 25F. No problem if I could keep my hands from going numb. I also remember wearing so many layers that I didn't hang my coat up, I stood it in a corner.:D After decades of acclimating to temps in the 90's, I don't want to work on cars below 60 F because I'm too busy shivering.

Everybody acclimates. Right now, I'm tropical. I like it that way. My arthritis hurts when I'm cold.

I like it a little a warmer too, totally understand, I have arthritis. Speaking of memories, I used to work for the "Water Company" repairing lines, one winter when trying to shut the valve off under water, the only way to get the wrench unstuck from my hand was to put it back into the water. :p

I was 17 and bullet proof, not now.

Time to stock-up on firewood and check the exposed water pipes.
It looks like a cold one next week.

Alaska is witnessing its coldest air in almost two years, and some of the biting chill is forecast to plunge into the western United States in about a week’s time.

In Fairbanks on Tuesday morning, the temperature tanked to minus-31 degrees, ending a 624-day stretch in which it was warmer than that — the second longest on record. Tuesday afternoon, the mercury only recovered to minus-21, ending a record-long 658-day stretch with highs above minus-10.

It was even colder in Bettles, Alaska, on Tuesday, where the temperature dropped to minus-41 with a bone-chilling wind chill of minus-53.

Standard winter here. Pretty much nothing to report. 60F to 80F No rain for weeks...except enough to make the dust on my black car turn into little mud spots.
First black car I ever had. I assumed you can't (successfully) air condition a black car in Florida, but I was wrong. The part I missed was how awfully they show dirt.
I'm having an existential crisis right now: Whether to commit to washing my car occasionally, or accept driving around in a nasty looking car.:D

Well, I have a water softener with an outside faucet. Without that, the water spots are horrendous, and difficult to get off, but I don't have that for an excuse. I guess I'll have to attach a garden hose to the soft water spigot and figure out a sponge on a stick, or something like that.

OMG! I just heard Franco Zeffirelli's Romeo and Juliet coming on TV right now. I haven't seen that for 48 years!
Memories of teenage love, which was much better than nightmares of Mrs. Robinson, which came out the same year.:D

Cold winter air has arrived. Just in time for Christmas.

I like the winters that deposit moisture, but leave the valley's free from snow. Less shoveling.

The weather looks pretty interesting for the next few days, time to stock up on anti-freeze of the JD kind. Snow/ice with strong winds (40-55 mph) are expected near my place.

The weather service also issued this warning.

Ouch, we are screwed. :D

If your "storm" lasts more than four hours you might want to call a professional.
