With just a bit of practice, you should be able to solve this by inspection. Hint -- that diagonal wire drastically reduces the complexity of the circuit.
But in the meantime, do what the question says, which is reduce it one step at a time. You might try first redrawing the circuit in such a way that the all resistors that are electrically connected to the negative side of the source are drawn vertically with one end tied to the bottom node in the picture.
Reminds me of one of the midterm questions eons ago when I took electronics, it was a cube consisting of 1ohm resistors, and it required the calc of the resistance across two diag corners.
