How to prevent leaking batteries in multimeters

Hello there,

I used to have leaking batteries also, but that was with the Rayovac type. That was the only type that leaked for me some 20 years ago.
Now there are better batteries like Interstate and Delco. I never had them leak.

Maybe we could drip some super glue around where the case seals to the terminals. That might help prevent leakage without bothering anything else like the size. Maybe epoxy instead.

I like the plastic bag idea but that might be hard to implement, and we would have to be careful not to puncture the plastic bag.

Depending on the battery size, Li-ion could be a replacement. For example, if a device takes two AA's in a row that can be replaced with one Li-ion cell of the same diameter with an added fake battery that just shorts out that position in the holder. I think the size for that was 14500 if I remember right.
