I'm growing frustrated with 9v battery connectors that get stuck on the negative terminal. Is there a way to avoid this (other than changing to another power source)? Or maybe a brand or feature that is better?

It won't if you simply do it right with metal to metal force with a thin tool. Practice makes perfect.

 

It's the same with preventing a hang nail. You need to grab the tap with your finger tips as close to the negative button as you can and "peel" the button out of its socket.
