Noob here, need some help on how to power this silicone rubber heater strip for a project. It has two black wires coming from it.

There is no polarity, simply supply it with 5V at 1A. It will work on DC or AC.

 

I use a Variac for adjustable control. As 5 V will be at the very low end, you may want to include a stepdown transformer too. Mine generally run fine somewhere between a setting 0 and 10.
