How to measure signal strength received by an antenna?

Hello everyone,

I have a project that requires measuring the signal strength received by 2 RF antennas. The purpose is to compare and see which one has more strength. I'm new to RF so I don't know how can we do that/which circuit board can we use? Can anyone give me some ideas/references?

P/S: The overview of my project is that we have one transmitting RF antenna and 2 receiving ones. We will send the signal containing data, and the antenna which stronger signal will receive the data, send it to CC2500 module & microcontroller to control the object.

Thank you so much.

What is the RF frequency?
Do you have an RF receiver amplifier?
Th RF frequency of what? If its CC2500, the frequency is 2.4GHz.

I'm looking for a possible/general ideas of how to work this problem out. If you have any, please mention it. Thank you so much.

If you have two of those ICs you can set up one as Tx, the other as Rx, use the test antennae in turn for Tx, program the Tx output level to find the respective thresholds where the Rx just fails to detect a signal, and compare thresholds. The antenna giving the lower threshold is the better one.

But how can you measure & compare the signal strength automatically (w/o manually adjust things each time)? There should be some circuits/modules to do this?

Thanks.
