I don´t see how it could become a boost when it has buck topology.

Of course you're right. I realized my mistake shortly after I posted, but was busy and couldn't find time to correct it.

Never mind - there's time to learn..................
A positive to negative switcher uses the back emf to generate a negative voltage - but it also has a slight similarity to a buck.

TI published a book on SMPSU topologies - you may be able to find a PDF online.

 

Ok, that is easy to find. I can see that buck and inverting buck-boost are kind of close, but it still is hard to imagine how to pull it of with that circuit. Especially when I have trouble imagining how the circuit actually gets to oscillate in the first place
