How to find a short on the motherboard

Any of the methods mentioned will work, but how do you know that the board is shorted? Have you tried powering it up with a current limited supply?

8V at 110mA doesn´t look like a short to me. If it was say 0.1V at 110mA, then that would be more like it.
You don´t want to apply 1A, you want to apply the correct supply voltage and use the current limiting set to say max 1A. The board will take what ever current it needs.

Neither of those is a fuse. PD1 is a diode, PL1 is an inductor, PD45 and 46 are diodes too. PQ5 and 6 are AO4407 p-channel mosfets.

Do i need the motherboard schematic to figure out the components ?
Thanks so much for you help !

Just general knowledge on how electronics is done, also knowing that C is used for capacitors, L for inductors, R for resistors, D for diodes,Q for ICs and transistors and F for fuses helps a lot. The P in the beginning of most of the labels probably means power supply, though I have never seen a naming convention like that.
The part of the board you took the photo off is a buck converter that converts the incoming ~19V to some lower voltage.

I would like to replace PD1 and PL1 . How can i figure out what is the voltage , current and power max ?

What is the way to recognize them ?
Thanks

Is PL1 is one of those ?
I found the component its

FBM-L11-453215-900LMAT_1812~D

Than i use the data sheet to see dimension and other staff .

and than i tried to find it at http://www.digikey.com/product-search/en/filters/ferrite-beads-and-chips/3408555?k=fbm
Unfortunately there isn't exactly as the original one !?

Did you try measuring them first?
PL1 should have very low resistance in both directions.
PD1 should be chcecked using the diode function, one way it should show ~0.2V, the other way should show the max value or OL or whatever you meter shows when the leads dont touch.

Anyway without knowing the original value you are probably out of luck.

Couldn´t that be just a simple broken contact issue?
does the power plug only have a 2 wire power connection?
Maybe the short has destroyed the PS and the board is ok.

I dont see how a broken power plug could really hurt the mainboard unless there is some feedback connection where the mainboard is monitoring the PS.
Does the jack port on the case have 'sense' meaning there is an internal switch so it knows when the PS jack has been plugged in?
Perhaps this jack port is also now defective, an arc from the PS could have wrecked this internally.

I just measured PD1 it shows me 0.194V
I got the schematic for this motherboard !

OP is really desperate huh!

I wanna help but OP lacks the basic knowledge tht is needed if I am to guide him.

@SONY85, attach the pdf to ur post here on AAC.

On page 38 you have the start of the power supply. Too bad that is a version 0.1 of the schematic and I am even not too sure if that isn´t some reverse engineered one. Anyway, you got there the names of the parts, so you can start measuring voltage at various point on the way to what I think is the main switcher at page 40.

That schematic is very untidy and convoluted, for example some of the switchers further down are drawn right to left.

Which are the most important parts in a schematic , or how you said main switcher ?

When I measure the components I find out whether they work or not , but when we using the methods with dc power supply . In what cases ?

I just found some of the component PD1
http://www.sendspace.com/file/wvi6iy
http://www.sendspace.com/file/7iu61a

You said when i measure PD1 it has to show 0.2V
How do you know this . The document says 0.5V .
This is very interesting
On a schematic I can't see what is the voltage for this component .
