Hi All,

I am controlling 12V DC motor direction by using L293D motor driver IC using Raspberry pi GPIO pins.
I am designing a robot which have nearly 10 DC motors. By using L293D Motor driver IC requires two GPIO pins for controlling one motor.
I cannot Afford 2 GPIOS for controlling the direction off single DC motor.

Can you please suggest me is is there any Driver IC which takes one input from GPIO and control Direction of DC motor??
like for
GPIO - HIGH - Motor forward direction
GPIO-LOW-Motor Reverse Direction.

You can take the single GPIO pin and connect it to one of the L293D inputs and connect an inverter between that signal and the other L293D input. That will control the motor as you describe above. However, you will need some other arrangement to stop the motor.
