How to build this prototype without going to pcb

So once before I had a pcb made and although it was cheap and I only made 10 or 20, I made improvements and don't want to have another 20 pieces made yet.

So I have a Nano on a through- hole which will have a mosfet and a resistor and then the l298n. What I will connect to the nano through-hole board with be the 7.4v battery pack and what I'll connect to the l298 is a dc motor.

Trying to keep the form factor small, I'm trying to make the 2 main parts face opposite each other. I have here the image of it hand held but I'd like to get your opinions as to how to make these electrically isolated and stick together :ECD930AA-8526-4BEE-B30A-852336BA2569.png

Here are the pictures. The through hole I want to cut as slender as possible to just fit the resistor and the mosfet and some space for a + rail and a GND rail and some connections. I want to then have that fit as small as possible with the L298n.

The l298 has contacts on the underside that will touch the connections on the underside of the nano/mosfet/resistor.

I am not sure what your question is.

Are there or are there not pads on both sides of that board? I am guessing there are comparing your two photos.

So I am not sure what your problem is.

On if you look at my first photo I have the through-hole with the nano on top and the L298 facing opposite. But if I place them together like that the contacts on the underside of each board will touch...causing sorry circuits and what not.

I want to put them together in a way where I can keep a small form factor.

Make holes in the green board that match the red board. Use standoffs to attach them at the desired spacing. Available in 0.25"=1.75" lengths. If standard sizes don't work, use a shorter one with washers.
