How do I use KVL for any circuits with a capacitor?

I'm confusing about using KVL for a circuit which has a capacitor.
It has its own terminal so I don't know how to apply KVL into it.
Should it be negative or positive?

P.S. I write an example on the paper. can you tell me which equation is correct?

Ignore the polarity for a moment. The polarity will be determined by the voltage across the capacitor.

You need to choose either transient conditions or steady-state conditions.
For steady-state, the current through the capacitor is 0.
For transient conditions, the voltage on the capacitor will be the integral of the current.

@Sibtain Did you have something you wanted to add to a very old, long resolved post?
It looks like he/she typed inside the body of the Quote so you have to "click to expand" to see his additions.
Looks like some examples, unless the previous poster attached that.
