Look I write for years about the spiders. There are many. I never saw any advert tailored for that.

However, when I joined an offical group for software (some years ago), after that, I saw homo dating adverts on my facebook homepage. Because I figured out, one of the members was into that.

Be careful if you do anything on facebook. It may automatically judge you are "friend of a friend" even if you just join a facebook group. It may automatically judge you also "like" all that stuff. And it may store that "information" and sell it to "someone". It will help to build up a "social" profile about you.

I tried facebook. But it is really kind of dumb.

Here's the new thing. To make people join facebook, we simply spread the information "Everyone already is on facebook". How's that?

People really should have the right that Facebook Inc. is not connecting to their computer, and/or is not accessing it at all.

Yah but were not allowed to say that. At one point when our gov cut their contract with Humvee, they gave businesses a $60,000 tax write off to buy a $100,000 hummer for 1 year.

 

The point is they play a lot of tricks which are pretty dumb and sick. For instance the "Like" button. You can see on web pages who recently "liked" that page. But you can only see the recent people. The majority is hidden, only visible for facebook. Or can you see the complete list if you sign into facebook?

So they are playing a dirty trick. Since nobody is really interested to see all these people, they only show the recent few additions, but the illusion works.

And why would I want to see a lot of weird strange faces every time I access webpages?

 

My favorite trick they did was ghosting users and creating millions of fake facebook accounts to make their numbers and hits look bigger. Once the real IT guys got into facebook they realized like 20% of the service were clones.

I have used FB for a while.

For instance I received friend requests from people I totally don't know.
I had the impression the patterns of these "friend" profiles were based on previous search history. I did not have much means if they were actually fake profiles, or representing a real living person.

I declined these requests which occured in a row.

However FB continued to send me emails over months. Requesting using these profile names again. Did they know each other, and really send fresh requests 5 or 6 times?

I actively declined, but believe FB simply sent out repeated notifications. Then after some months it stopped.

The user agreement with FB basically is a legal blanket cover that you grant them to do with your data what ever they wanted to do.

 

Interesting enough, at this time, my profile was also empty. So it wasn't very attractive to "befriend".

How did they find it anyway? I did not link to it, or give the URL to people.

 

Opening facebook with FireFox 14.0.1, I had several widows opening on the right side.

That's what I was thinking, since anything on Facebook (or any site) is of a (usually) non work related social matter, and is not a part of qualifications for employment.

I have a Facebook profile, I didn't for many years, then got into paintballing and it seemed that everyone in my area, including the teams I wanted to join used Facebook to communicate, so I joined. Now, I just go on, to see what's going on with friends and family I don't see regularly. I usually only "friend" people I actually know, or know online from other sites, that I have a rapport with.

 

I have done a bit research about facebook.

The urge for that kind of social networking actually seems to be kind of jewish:

-To know and to examine whom someone knows
-To connect with and make many friends, including simply to "befriend" strangers.

This might be due to the fact that regular jews actually are in a state of so-called "Diaspora", means spread all over the world.

And they also rather stick together as one ethnic community. So it is normal for them to "befriend" even strangers they don't know.

Actually many social networks come from Israel or are run by Jews:

And of course Facebook. While it is true about 2007 or 2008, Facebook received investment and support from Microsoft.

I was carefully considering this whole social network thing (and by the way, I did not watch the Facebook movie).

I am for instance still member at Netlog. There are also people younger than 18, and they seem to collect contacts, and to accept requests from nearly anyone. Typically people have about 500 contacts. Having a track record of examining this thing a little myself, I strongly doubt these friendships are any genuine. The downend might lead down to individuals which in real world, you would be very afraid of. You would not want to hang out with them, or to talk to them even just for a flipping minute.

On flickr there is also much of a networking option. Most contacts I added over time, were not really genuine (I just reprocicated). Most who added me were actually totally weirdos. In the follow up, I ceased activity, and opened a fresh account.

The recent article on Yahoo News about a women who played a game on Facebook, then was "befriended" by another women (in the need for a kidney); in the follow up her husband actually made a donation- this was just plain gruesome.

When you play World of Warcraft, exchanging real world contact details is actually strongly discouraged, even if in theory, it is possible via chat. Sometimes I teamed up with people, sometimes even just 1:1 (me and someone else), but never experienced a situation or request to exchange real world contact details.

 

And I don't exclude the possibility that woman might have been speculating for a situation like outlined in the news article to arise.

So, I don't want any facebook access or transfer or connection to happen.

I don't want them to collect just one bit of data without my prior explicit opt-in.
