Horse shoe vs 2 magnets for Faraday disk

Hey there,
I'm building a Faraday disk, and I'm wondering if there is any difference in the magnetic field created by using a horse shoe shaped magnet with the disk in between the poles, compared with using 2 separate magnets placed to attract each other on either side of the disk.
Regards,
Ben

Welcome to AAC!
If the horseshoe magnet had the same magnetic strength and pole spacing as the separate magnets there shouldn't be any difference. However, these days it is probably much easier/cheaper to source powerful separate magnets than it is to source a strong horseshoe magnet.
